The Legacy of ‘Devi’
These awards are a homage to the real-life devis who have displayed the qualities of Ma Durga and her nine avatars – courage and humility, fearlessness and compassion, wisdom and innocence. These women have excelled in their respective fields – art, culture, social work, entrepreneurship, food, media, design and so much more.
The inaugural Devi campaign in 2021 featured the luminous Mrs. Malini Awasthi, a multilingual folk singer renowned for her contributions to Bhojpuri music. Felicitated with the Padma Shri award in 2016, she personifies Devi through her artistic ingenuity, authenticity and unwavering dedication.
In 2022, Devi 2.0 encompassed a broader spectrum of awe-inspiring women from Lucknow. After a diligent process of nominations, nine Devis from diverse domains were felicitated at a glittering award ceremony.
