TEJAS EXPRESS TO MAKE ITS MAIDEN RIDE FROM LUCKNOW TO DELHI ON OCT 4. HAVE YOU BOOKED YOUR TICKET YET?

The Tejas Express – India’s first privately-run train – is set for its maiden run from Lucknow to Delhi on October 4, 2019. As the countdown for the journey begins, here’s everything you need to know about a journey aboard the train.

FEATURES
The semi-high speed, fully air-conditioned train comes with automatic doors, wifi facility and an option of choosing combo meals from the revamped food menu. Medu vada, poha, vegetable cutlets and muffins are some of the yummy delights on offer, prices of which are included in the tickets. Bookings opened on Friday evening and the response was phenomenal. The train will cover the distance between Lucknow and Delhi in 6 hours 15 minutes, and make stops at Kanpur Central and Ghaziabad station.

SCHEDULE
The train will run 6 days a week, except Tuesday.
October 6 onwards the schedule is:
New Delhi – Lucknow: 3.35pm – 10.05pm
Lucknow – New Delhi: 6.10am – 12.25pm
The train will only run one-way on the inaugural day, i.e. Lucknow to Delhi. The timings for the inaugural day are also different. The train will depart at 9.30 am from Lucknow and arrive in Delhi at 4 pm.

TICKETS
Planning to book a ride on the Tejas Express? Last we checked, only 380 seats for the Chair Car and 29 for the Executive Chair Car were available. The price of the AC chair car ticket from Lucknow to Delhi and vice versa, was Rs. 1220, while that of Executive Chair Car was Rs. 2310. You can log on to irctc.com to book your tickets. You cannot book a ticket for the Tejas Express on an Indian Railways counter. The closer you get to the travelling date, the higher will be the ticket prices. A cancellation fee of Rs.25 for AC and Rs. 65 for EC car will be charged.
