THE LION SAFARI AT ETAWAH IS FINALLY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Just 3 hours from Lucknow, the Lion Safari at Etawah opened to the public on Sunday, November 24. The park is divided into 5 parts – the Deer and Antelope Safari, Bear Safari, Leopord and Lion Safari. While only the deer and antelope safari has been opened, the Lion Safari is awaiting a nod from the Central Zoo Authority (CZA).

Spread over an area of 350 acres, the park has 18 lions and six cubs as of now. In order to open to public, the safari must have at least 10 cubs.

According to the Etawah Safari website, the plan to build the safari was given a go-ahead by the Central government in 2013, and is expected to boost eco-tourism in the area. On Day 1 of its opening, it was reported that some 400 people bought tickets to visit the safari.

The weather seems perfect for a visit to the safari to view the wildlife, which includes 111 animals at the time of opening. There are two buses and a jeep to take tourists around the safari park.
