Tejas Express, which will run from Lucknow to Delhi, and cover the distance in less than 6 hours, is going to be the first privately-run train in the country, according to reports, and it will be operational within the next 100 days. It will depart from Lucknow at 6.50 am and reach Delhi at 1.35 pm. From Delhi, it is scheduled to leave at 3.35 pm and reach Lucknow by 10.05 pm.
Tejas Express is a luxury chair car, with better features than what you are used to in a Shatabdi. According to a report in CondeNast Traveller, the train will have “electronically-operated doors, plush seats, larger windows, CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi, coffee and tea-vending machines, bio-vacuum toilets, touchless taps, hand-driers.” And better food! Plus, there will be in-train entertainment systems.
Can’t wait to get on this one!
