1.  SHARMA TEA STALL
Arguably the most popular of all, this joint has been dishing out samosas since over 62 years! Run now by its third generation, Sharma makes and sells an average of 800 samosas a day! The almost round in shape samosa is packed with a typical aloo filling, and is enjoyed with butter-slathered buns and Sharma ji’s famous chai!

2. KEVAL
A strong adversary to Sharma, Keval surely has the biggest samosa of them all! With the shop opening as early as 6 a.m., the samosa here seems to be a staple diet of many. Though getting to Keval is a bit of a Herculean task, one bite into the snack and your troubles seem worth it all. Keval also has seating available, should you fancy it, or you could just enjoy your samosa in the neighbouring complex of the Sibtainabad Imambada.

3. SEHGAL SAMOSE
Located under a tree on a busy and crowded street off Hazratganj, is the very well known Sehgal ka Samosa. A humble set- up on Newal Kishore Road, the samosas here sell like hot cakes and people in the vicinity swear by it. The samosa itself is medium sized but it is the unique masala that has the crowds hooked on. Served with chutney, the samosa is quite a hit among Lucknowites.

4. AKANKSHA MASALA MATHRI KENDRA
Step into Akanksha and your senses are overwhelmed with the sight and smells of Indian spices and snacks. One of the most popular and fast selling of their snacks is the samosa. This is the closest you will come to a homemade samosa. Their samosa is fried to perfection and has just the right amount of masala. The samosas are also not too large, just the size to devour without guilt. . Plus: they’re made in hygienic surroundings. Have one on us, you won’t regret it.

5. ALPAHAAR
Only about a year and half old, Alpahaar’s samosas have a substantial patronage. Almost a cocktail samosa in size, it has a relatively non-spicy aloo filling. The Samosa is put on the shelf 12 noon onwards and the stock is continuously replenished. We love everything about this one – hygienic and freshly made.
