The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has declared 23rd of September 2022 as National Cinema Day and they’re celebrating this day by saying thank-you to the movie-goers in the country with a jaw-dropping discount on ticket prices. Just for one day, you watch a movie for just ₹75.
Why National Cinema Day?
Cinema Day is celebrated in other parts of the world such as the US when movie tickets are available at discounted prices. In India, MAI has chosen to celebrate National Cinema Day to express their gratitude to the audience for the successful reopening of theatres after the lockdown. It is also a way to woo the audiences that have still not returned to theatres. Earlier, it was decided to celebrate National Cinema Day on September 16, 2022 but to ensure wider participation from multiplexes, the date was postponed to September 23, 2022.
What to expect?
Massive discounts on tickets at more than 4000 screens across India! Movie tickets will cost a flat ₹75 at participating cinema screens of PVR, INOX, CINEPOLIS and WAVE in Lucknow. That’s not it, multiplexes are also offering discounts on in-house food and beverages. Too good to be true?
