Nadeem Bhai, who runs the canteen at La Martiniere College, Lucknow has everyone hooked to his preparations. The signature dish at the canteen – the Bun Tack – is made of bun, halted and lightly fried in ghee, with a mashed aloo tikki placed between them. Simple yet delectable. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available on regular school days. However, you can get Bun Tacks at Sunday Bunday events organised in the school every month by the alumni.
There are a lot of items on the La Martiniere Canteen menu, and the old boys of the school swear by Nadeem Bhai’s food. The more popular ones are the non-veg version of the Bun Tack – the Bun Kebabs. Also also a huge favourite are the Sheermal Kebab that you get here.
