Katiyar Cool Corner has nothing fancy about it, except the 42 years of history that comes with it. Tucked away in a by-lane in Nirala Nagar, the place has been serving Shikanji, Fruit Beer and fruit juices of all kinds, under the shade of a peepal tree.
Located near IT College, Katiyar Cool Corner is quite a hit with students. Don’t look for a signage at the stall, because there is none, but the modest stall enjoys a loyal patronage.
While vegetable juices such as beetroot and carrot juice are available only in the winter months, one can enjoy a variety of fresh fruit juices such as pineapple, mausambi and mixed fruits all through the year. But this place is most famous for its non-alcoholic Fruit Beer, Soda Shikanji and Masala Lemonade. Also on the menu: ice-cream colas, badam and kaju milk, shakes and expresso coffee along with modest patties.
They serve all drinks in disposable glasses, which means no dirty glasses to deal with.
