Some of the best food that Lucknow is known for is not served in fine dine restaurants in the city, but in small, street-side eateries, that spend no money at all in marketing their fine foods! For example, Idrees Ki Biryani. This 45-year-old shop in Chowk is being run by Abu Bakr, the third generation of his family to carry on the legacy of serving mouth-watering biryani.
Don’t expect an elaborate menu. All they have is mutton and chicken korma and of course, mutton biryani. The quantity of food cooked is limited, and sells out fast. The rice used is kada basmati, the mutton is perfectly cooked and juicy.
You could go and eat there, or get it packed. Ideally, get it home-delivered using one of the home delivery portals n Lucknow.
The eatery remains open on all days. During Ramzan, however, it maybe closed on specific days. The shop opens at 12 noon till 3 p.m., and then again in the evening, from 6 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
