After the popular of the Groomer song from Padmaavat, Lucknow is going to be getting its very first Ghoomar dance workshop this summer.
WHAT
A 5-day dance workshop to teach the authentic dance form of Rajasthani folk dance Ghomar is being organised in Lucknow by the Gangaur Ghoomar Dance Academy of Rajasthan. The academy was founded by the late Rajmaata Goverdan Kumarri of Santrampur, a Padma Shree awardee. The workshop will be conducted by dance trainer Jyothi D. Tommaar, who worked closely with the choreographer of Deepika Padukone’s Ghoomar dance in Padmaavat.
WHO CAN ENROL FOR IT
The workshop will be conducted in two batches – one for girls aged 7 to 16, and the other for anyone 17 year and above. So, whether you’re in your 20s, 30s or 40s, you can still learn how to do the Ghoomar dance.
