What makes a road trip more interesting? The food you get along the route. If you travel on the Grand Trunk Road, that stretches from Chittagong in Bangladesh on the East to Kabul in Afghanistan on the West, you will get to sample varied cuisines and flavours along the journey. The same flavours converge at The G.T. Road – the buffet restaurant in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, which brings together the regional cuisines from the cities along the actual Grand Trunk Road .

The flavours of Amritsar, Lahore, Peshawar, Patiala, Delhi, Jalandhar, Varanasi, Kolkata, Ambala, Mathura and Kabul, among other places.

An elaborate buffet spread starts with unlimited tandoori starters, barbecued directly on the table! From Ananas Khata Meetha, Methi Bhutta and Paneer Tikka to Murgh Lahsooni Tikka, Tandoor Fish, Masala Chicken Wings and Bhuna Jheenga, they have something for every taste.
Next comes their yummy soups followed by the buffet spread of Meat Beliram, Makhanwala Murgh, Tamatar Machi, Sarson Ka Saag, Matar Mushroom, Achari Aloo and Kadhai Paneer. Our favourite – the good ol’ Daal Makhni done to perfection!
Of course, there’s also the bar there now to mix up some interesting cocktails like the Sharaabi Bantas and GT Road Specials, or serve your favourite spirits – from whisky and vodka to gin and tonic. Not part of the buffet but available on à la carte basis. You could also ask the bartender to surprise you for something unique!
THE AMBIENCE
The ambience reflects the rustic simplicity and style that the GT Road brings with it. The copper utensils, the woven chairs and the entire styling revels in an old world charm.
