We’ve finally found a place that serves gourmet food, awesome coffee and promises a fuss-free but welcoming vibe. Introducing: Bonita Bakehouse and Cafe, located at Gokhale Marg, Lucknow. ‘Bonita’ means pretty or lively, and the cosy cafe, with an option of indoor and outdoor seating, is just that!
What’s on the menu?
Before venturing into the cafe space, Bonita Bakehouse was a cloud kitchen specialising in artisanal breads & other bakery goods. The menu at the cafe includes those specialisations – sourdough bread and handmade pasta, but also an array of lip-smacking dishes that will cover you from breakfast to brunch and desserts.
The pasta and pizza menu is elaborate! The pastas are all freshly hand rolled using traditional Italian techniques and the sauces are made fresh to order. There are options of signature and artisanal pasta dishes like Aglo Olio, Spinach and Cheddar Tortellini in Alfredo, and more. Choose from a variety of sourdough pizzas that are topped with locally sourced vegetables & the freshest mozzarella cheese! NL recommends: Firangi Nawab, a pizza that has galawat kebabs for topping!
You can kick-start your day on a healthy note at Bonita Bakehouse & Cafe with great breakfast options like. To begin with, try one of their egg dishes: Akuri – Parsi-style eggs, Eggs Benedict, Shakshouka or their desi egg concoction – Eggs Kejriwal. You can also dig into Belgian Chocolate Pancakes, Fried Chicken and Butter pancakes or try the Korean style pancakes, Pajeon! The sandwiches are drool-worthy with the breads being baked in-house too.
For the health conscious, the Gourmet Bowls will be a sure shot winner, with millet and quinoa to replace the rice, clubbed with a variety of options like slow roast jackfruit or paneer / cheese and mushroom. Non vegetarians can choose between roast chicken or Katsu prawn. Or perhaps, order one of their freshly prepared salads: Apple and Walnut salad, Greek salad, Honey Glaze Ham salad & more.
But what’s a cafe without coffee? They have a pretty good variety of coffees – from Expresso to Machiato, Americano & Cappuccino. Tea lover? Order their Masala Chai Latte. The cold beverage menu has so many new options to try, like the Vegan Vietnamese Iced coffee, Cranberry coffee & Vanilla Cold Brew. Feeling indulgent?
