The Uttar Pradesh government banned use of plastic bags in the state from July 15, 2018. If you are wondering what are your alternatives, here’s the place to go to: Ehsaas, a non-profit organisation in Lucknow, has been manufacturing and selling eco-friendly cloth and paper bags from even before the government imposed the ban on plastic bags. They have a range of colourful and useful bags for everyday and gifting purposes.

Here are some samples of the bags they have created. They take orders for bags in small and bulk quantities.
What we like about these bags is not just that they are eco-friendly, but also that they have been made by underprivileged women, and generate employment for them. So every time we use a bag from Ehsaas we know we’re doing a doubly good deed.
