Look at the world through rainbow-tinted glasses as the Awadh Queer Pride returns for the seventh consecutive year with a series of events that culminates with the LGBTQIA + Pride Walk in Lucknow on February 26, 2023. Celebrate diversity and inclusivity with a host of events starting this January. Here’s a highlight of the major events you can mark your calendars for:

February 6, 2023: A Nukkad Natak to sensitise the society about LGBTQIA issues will be staged by the YES Foundation.
Location: In front of Sharma Tea, Lalbagh, Lucknow
Time: 3 pm onwards

February 10 to 12, 2023: Queer Movie Screening, with a strong line up of stirring theatre and movie screenings based on LGBT issues. The idea is it reach out via cinema.
Location: Indian Institute of Management – Lucknow, IIM Road, Lucknow
Time: 4 pm onwards

February 19, 2023: Poster-making Competition to spread the message of acceptance through beautiful colours and messages, bring out your creativity and prepare posters that will be displayed at the Pride Walk.
Location: Lohia Park, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow
Time: 12 noon to 3 pm

February 25, 2023: Another event to watch out for is the Queers and Allies Day, which aims to bring the queer community and the allies together to break misconceptions and stereotypes, through interactive games, workshops and dialogue.

February 26, 2023: The concluding and the most-awaited event is the Pride Walk followed by the Post Pride Party. Head out for the walk because you respect equal rights, and because you are against discrimination. Slogans, cheering, speeches, dance and music – it’s going to be a celebration of diversity!.

Post Pride Party: 7 pm onwards

There are other events lined up as well, such as a Queer Women Exclusive Meeting and Inclusive Muhabbat, details for which will be disclosed in the coming days.
