Lucknow is gearing up for a sporting celebration like never before: the Athrise Sports Championship! The event promises to bring together the city’s most promising young talent for a dynamic showcase of Athletics, Badminton, and Chess.
At a time when India celebrates its victories at global arenas like the Olympics, Commonwealth, and Asian Games, many tier-2 cities still struggle with grassroots-level opportunities. Athrise aims to bridge this gap by creating a professionally structured, children-focused sporting ecosystem – right here in Lucknow.
A Championship Built for Young Talent
What sets Athrise apart is its commitment to giving children the kind of exposure, structure, and evaluation they rarely get locally. With 72 disciplines across 14 age categories (4 to 19 years), every participant will be assessed using world-level performance parameters. The goal: build confidence, encourage competition, and nurture future champions. The championship is split across two premier sporting venues:
1. Athletics
Date: November 28 to 30, 2025
Venue: 35th Vahini PAC Ground, Mahanagar
For three action-packed days, this state-of-the-art ground will host one of Lucknow’s most extensive children-centric athletics showcases. From 50m sprints to 3000m endurance runs, the events span Track, Field, Relays, Hurdles, Race Walking, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Javelin, and Discus. Professionally maintained tracks, certified officiating, and fully separated age and gender categories make it a first-of-its-kind athletics experience for the city’s young athletes.
2. Badminton & Chess
Date: December 12 to 14, 2025
Venue: BBD Badminton Academy, Gomti Nagar
One of North India’s top indoor arenas—equipped with seven international-standard courts and large spectator seating—sets the stage for three days of high-energy Badminton and strategic Chess showdowns. Badminton features Singles and Doubles across U-11 to U-19. Chess will be conducted in a Swiss Format, welcoming players from U-7 to U-19. Both competitions promise fair play, transparent scoring, and a vibrant, competitive environment.
