Cellar, one of the first Italian food places in Lucknow, introduced their all new menu last month. And we finally managed to get there to check out what’s new. Cellar has quite a fan following in the city – it’s been around for some 17 years now! But what we love about this place is that it takes the effort to reinvent itself every few years, to make sure its customers are not bored of the same ol’ stuff!
WHAT’S NEW?
So many things, we couldn’t possible sample everything. What we noticed is that there’s an equal variety of new dishes to try for vegetarians as there are for non-vegetarians, so no one will be complaining. Also, a whole new salad menu, so weight-watchers, say yay!
For us, Cellar has always been somewhat of a proper lunch/dinner place, but this time, they’ve introduced so many new shakes and beverages, as well as snacks, that if you just want to go there to catch up with friends in the evening, or a casual meet-up, there are plenty of options to order now.

But we were craving a hearty meal when we landed there. And ordered a Veggie Ala Tomato. Lots of exotic vegetables, so you don’t end up feeling guilty about hogging on a full plate of great tasting food! For non-vegetarians, we’d also recommend the Roast Lamb Wine Sauce, Baked Fish
On the chef’s recommendation, we ordered the Cannoli, and didn’t regret it a bit! Cannoli is an Italian dessert that has a crispy shell filled with cream, and served with a drizzle of chocolate sauce. It even sounds so yum!
OLD FAVOURITES, NEW TWIST
It’s not like none of the old dishes are on the menu anymore. Pizzas, pastas, risotto are the staple order at Cellar. They’ve got all of those old favourites on the new menu with a dash of something new. Like thin crust pizzas.
They’ve also changed up their pasta menu and added some authentic Italian flavours. Because honestly, how much fusilli in arabiatta sauce or penne in mushroom sauce can we have!
