A modest establishment in Alambagh, this place is a one-stop-shop for your mandir needs – idols, jewels, incense, decoration items for the temple etc. The shop keeps a number of Ganesh idols, sourced from different craftsmen from Haridwar, Kolkota and as far as Rajasthan. If you are pressed for time, you can even “book” your preferred murti through WhatsApp, and then make the payment when you go to collect it.

The market has a number of shops that sell all kinds of religious items. However, a must visit would be Ritesh Raj’s shop, just outside the gate of the shoe lane, leading to Pratap Market. More than a hundred years old, Ritesh is the fourth generation of his family that has been making clay idols of the deity. Each idol is decorated differently – while some have kundan work on them, others show off intricate designs. The smallest idol available is 6 inches high and the tallest is 4 feet.

3. TEMPORARY MARKET AT I.T. CROSSING
