TRIED, TESTED & SUPERHIT: 12 FLAVOURS OF PANI AT RAVI BATASHE WALA’S STALL IN CHOWK

Right outside the Chowk Kotwali is a small stall serving pani batashas or gol gappe, since the last 30 years. Known as Ravi Batashe Wala, nothing has changed in the past three decades at this stall, and Ravi and his brothers are continuing their father’s legacy of taste and satisfaction.

WHAT
Twelve different flavours of pani batashe, served one after another. Each batasha comes with a specific chutney. Plain, Heeng, Aam, Hari Mirch, Mix Aam, Zeera, to name a few. The last piece is always a special dry batasha to wind up the experience. But that’s not the only reason why you must try the batashas here.  Everything served at this stall – right from the batasha and matar to the chutneys, is homemade. In fact, the pani and chutneys are a mix of Ayurvedic ingredients well known for their digestive qualities, held together in the family’s secret recipes.

Price: A plate costs Rs. 30 for 12 flavour servings, but you can always stop when you’ve had your fill. A smaller serving comes at Rs. 10 for 4 pieces. You can take it away too at no extra packaging cost.
Timings: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on all days
Location: Outside Chowk Kotwali, behind Gol Darwaza, Chowk, Lucknow
