The Lucknow Mahotsav celebrates the art and crafts, cuisine and culture of our country, with special emphasis on Lucknow. This year too, Lucknow Mahotsav would have performances by celebrities and classical singers, while promoting local artists on cultural evenings. Stalls by artisans from India and other SAARC countries, a Kavi Sammelan, Mushaira and Agricultural Fair are on the cards. There will be Free Wi-fi at the Mahotsav grounds. The internet access has been provided free to the users for first few minutes. Watch out for the Paryatan Kumbh, a Holiday Expo being organised by UP Tourism.

This is the first time that Lucknow will be hosting the DefExpo 2020, where the Indian defence industry showcases its capabilities and promotes its export potential. The theme of the DefExpo will be ‘India: The Emerging Defence Manufacturing Hub’ with focus on ‘Digital Transformation of Defence’.  Can we attend the DefExpo as visitors? Not as far as we know. The event is for B2B buyers and meetings with government . So why is this such a big deal for Lucknow? Well, for one, this is a high profile event and puts Lucknow on the international map. Two, it’s already driving the Lucknow economy with so many buyers and exhibitors expected in the city. All hotels in Lucknow are already booked to capacity on those days of February. And the few rooms that may be available are going up to Rs.40,000 for a single night! Phew!
