THERE’S SOMETHING CALLED A ‘CHUNCHUN ROLL’ AT THE I.T. COLLEGE CANTEEN!

On hearing the word chun-chun, one would not imagine even in the wildest dreams that it could be a food item. But much to our amazement Chun Chun Roll is the most popular item at the canteen in Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow.

WHAT
It has been on the menu for over five decades now, and is one of the most sold items of the canteen, competing with the Chhola Bhatura in popularity. The roll made of a maida chapatti stuffed with a filling of white peas or safed matar, and then shallow fried. The taste is not very spicy. Why is it called a Chun Chun Roll? Because the name was catchy and lyrical!

Everyday around 200-300 Chun Chun Rolls are made and sold in the canteen for a mere Rs 12 apiece.  Mostly people like it because it’s filling and mildly flavoured.

 Location: IT College canteen
Price: Rs 12 per piece
Timing: During college hours
